Basel, Switzerland - City on the Rhine RiverThis is Basel, Switzerland - a university city divided in two by the Rhine River which bends northward in this region. Six bridges link the smaller part of town (Kleinbasel, to the north) with the larger part of town (Grossbasel, to the south). Three medieval city gates survive - St. Paul's Gate is the most famous.
