Battle of the Little Bighorn - Part 5

WARNING:  THIS CLIP CONTAINS GRAPHIC DISCUSSION OF EVENTS DURING THE BATTLE OF THE LITTLE BIGHORN.  IT IS DIFFICULT TO WATCH AND HEAR.  PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

At the Battle of the Little Bighorn, a group of American immigrants were fighting against a group of Native Americans battling to preserve their way of life.

Evidence, left behind on "Last Stand Hill," indicates that "Custer's Last Stand" was over in a very short period of time.  Young soldiers, desparately trying to quickly reload their slow-loading weapons, inadvertently dropped live rounds on the ground.

The entire battle was likely over in about ninety minutes.  Some of the soldier's bodies - at least twenty-eight of them - have not yet been found.

Lakota and Cheyenne warriors defeated U.S. troops at Little Bighorn, but the price was great for them, too.  Not only did they lose their own men, women and children - they were ultimately defeated by the policies and actions of the federal government.
