Cold War - Cuban Missile Crisis, Part 1

In October 1962, the Soviet Union installed nuclear missiles in Cuba - an island ninety miles south of the U.S. mainland.  What happened, during thirteen tension-filled days that month, pushed the world to the brink of nuclear war.

This clip provides preliminary background on the Cuban Missile Crisis.  It also includes interviews with Fidel Castro and other individuals having firsthand information about the crisis.
