Dharavi - City Within a City

This area of Mumbai, called Dharavi, is often referred to as a slum.  People who live there, however, object to that description.  It is a place where poverty exists, alongside thriving enterprises, as Dharavi residents produce products used throughout the world.

This is a scene in Dharavi.  The picture was taken in December of 2008.
