Dostoevsky - Facing the Firing Squad

As a young man, Dostoevsky - and some of his friends - received a death sentence.  This clip looks into that history and examines how he ran afoul of the law.

Included are quotes from Dostoevsky's personal account of what happened when was about a minute away from being killed by a firing squad.  Instead of death, he received a sentence of four years, in the fortress, then a return to the military (at a reduced rank).

NOTE:  The leader of the group was Petrashevsky (not Patrushevsky, as noted by the narrator).
