Endeavour, STS-127 - Picture of Falling DebrisDuring a shuttle's launch and ascent, NASA carefully tracks what is happening with the external fuel tank's foam insulation. Since Columbia's fatal debris-strike (during the STS-107 mission), a camera (mounted on the external tank) provides NASA officials with launch/ascent data. A camera, mounted on Endeavour's external fuel tank, recorded this debris fall soon after the launch of mission STS-127 (on the 15th of July, 2009).
