Fleeing People - Leaving East Germany for the WestAfter World War II was over, and the Soviets controlled East Germany, people from the east who wanted to live in the west left the country. In part, the Berlin Wall was built to stop the outflow of people. This photograph, from Germany's National Archives (Bundesarchiv), depicts such a scene.
