Execution - A Way of Life in Medieval Times

This illumination, from the Chronicles of Jean Froissart, illustrates the torture and death (by beheading) of Guillaume Sans, lord of Pommiers.  The execution took place in Bordeaux, on the orders of Thomas Felton, the city's English seneschal.
