FDR - First Inaugural Address

Franklin Delano Roosevelt first took the Presidential oath on the 4th of March, 1933.  It was the last time an American president was sworn-in during that month.  Now inaugurations occur in January.

Near the beginning of this famous inaugural speech, FDR told his fellow citizens:  "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

Note that the President, whose legs were paralyzed from polio, stood during his entire speech.
