Genghis Khan Creates an Empire

Temujen's army eventually conquered 12,000,000 square miles.  His tactics, according to the ancient chronicle recording his exploits, were ingenious for the time.  They were also ruthlessly deadly.  According to the history, one battle (in 1204) left so many dead soldiers that they looked like "felled logs in a forest."

This clip is from the BBC's Genghis Khan, based on a written history composed soon after the great ruler's death.
