Genghis Khan - Early Years

As China’s Great Wall was falling into ruins, a baby named Temujen was born.  At birth, his right hand was clenching a blood clot.  Prophecies existed about such events.

As that baby grew into manhood, nomadic hordes were sweeping across Asia. By 1204, all the nomads were united under the “king of kings” - Genghis Khan (the former baby with the clenched blood clot). He and his men took no prisoners and often slaughtered entire cities. Looking south, the Khan desired China and its fertile land.

This video clip, from Discovery Communications' Secrets of the Great Wall (directed by Patrick Fleming), uses historical records, recreated scenes and expert interviews to examine the life and legacy of Genghis Khan.
