Amazing Grace - Parliament Abolishes the Slave TradeTrailer of the film, Amazing Grace, which tells the story of one man's determination to overturn an unjust law. For years, William Wilberforce tried to convince the British Parliament that the slave trade was wrong. On the 23rd of February, 1807, he finally succeeded when Parliament overturned the law by a vote of 283 to 16. Wilberforce was present for the vote. After it was over, he bowed his head and wept.
