Lake District - Heather on the Hopegill Head

Hopegill Head, one of the Lake District's fells, is 9 km west of Keswick.  Here, we see the mountain covered with heather. 

This area is the only place in Britain where one can find Viscaria alpina, the red-alpine catchfly.
