Helen Keller with Baby-Sister MildredThis photograph, circa 1888, depicts Helen Keller with her younger sister, Mildred. In her autobiography, The Story of My Life, Helen relates an incident where she once overturned her sister's cradle. Had it not been for quick intervention by the girls' mother, Mildred could have been seriously hurt (or worse).
