Hiroshima - Bomb Run

What was it like to be part of the crew which dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima? This video clip, from a BBC documentary on the subject, includes recreated scenes and interviews with men who flew the mission.

Paul Tibbets, the pilot-in-command, tells us that he had cyanide capsules in case the plane was downed and the crew captured.  When he asked whether anyone wanted a pill, one man said "yes."  He was the person who knew the most about the bomb.

This vide clip is from a BBC documentary - Hiroshima - in which surviving members of the Enola Gay crew talk about their mission to deliver the atomic bomb to that city. The documentary is part of a significantly broader BBC series on the History of World War II.
