Joan of Arc - With Robert of BaudricourtJoan of Arc continued to hear voices which urged her to help the Dauphin. While at Vancouleurs, where the Dauphin's army was located, she talked with the commander - Robert of Baudricourt. Initially, he was incredulous that a teenage girl thought she could help the Dauphin become king of France. This nineteenth-century painting, of Joan of Arc at Vaucouleurs, is by Jean-Jacques Scherrer. It is entitled: "The Departure of Jeanne d'Arc." Click on the image for a better view.
