Judge in Abrams Case - Henry Clayton

Henry Clayton was the judge in the Abrams case.  Watching the trial closely, the New York Times applauded his conduct of the proceedings.  On October 28, 1918, the paper published the following comments in an editorial:

Judge Henry D. Clayton deserves the thanks of the city and of the country for the way in which he conducted the trial.
