Langlois Bridge at Arles

Working hard in his new surroundings at Arles, during the spring of 1888, Vincent experimented with color.  This work, Langlois Bridge at Arles, is similar to another painting, but with more yellow in the bridge.

At the time he was painting this work, Vincent told his brother:

If there should happen to be a month or a fortnight when you were hard pressed, let me know and I will set to work on some drawings, which will cost us less. I mean, you must not put yourself out unnecessarily, there is so much to do here, all sorts of studies...

Painted in April 1888, Langlois Bridge at Arles is now part of a private collection.
