Meteorology in the Middle AgesMeteorological events were not well understood in the middle ages. The weather, like other scientific subjects, was often the province of people trained in theology. See, for example, Heaven and Earth in the Middle Ages (by Rudolf Simek), page 98. This illumination, from a work entitled On the Properties of Things, is maintained at the Bibliotheque Nationale de France and depicts the changing of seasons.
