Mount Taygetus - Near the Greek City-State of SpartaThe Taygetos (also spelled Taygetus) Mountains, some of the largest in Greece, measure 7,897 feet (2407 meters) at the highest point and extend about 24.85 miles (40 km). Dominating the view in Sparta, the mountain was named after Tayget, daughter of the Greek god Atlas. Click on the image for a better view.
