One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich - Solzhenitsyn

During the Stalinist era, future-Nobel-Laureate Solzhenitsyn was a prisoner in a forced labor camp.  His novel, about Ivan Denisovich Shukhov, paints scenes of life in such a place.
