Pan Am Debris at Crash Scene

This photo, from Pan America's historical web site, depicts the remains of Flight 1736. 

Because Captain Grubbs turned his airplane approximately twenty-seven degrees - after he first saw the lights of the approaching plane - he was able to spare the port wing and save the lives of sixty-one people.
