Pearl Harbor - BBC's Alvar Liddell Tells the World

Alvar Liddell, a BBC reporter on the day of the Pearl Harbor attack, told the world what had happened.  The result would not just be war with Japan.  The United States would also declare war on Germany.

People in Britain, and elsewhere, had long hoped America would join the war against Hitler.  It is no stretch to believe that when they heard Alvar Liddell's news, people concluded that a bad day for America was probably a good day for Europe. 

Now more countries could unite in their fight against the Nazis.
