Polyxena - Vindication for Achilles

Giambattista Pittoni (1687-1767) created this painting - The Sacrifice of Polyxena.  In one version of Achilles' command, he ordered that Polyxena be killed on his tomb.  In this painting, we see her at its side with Achilles' son Neoptolemus, her soon-to-be executioner, nearby.

The painting is now maintained at the Hermitage, in St. Petersburg, Russia.
