Portrait of Marcelle Roulin, 1888During the winter of 1888, while he was living in Arles, Vincent painted the family of his good friend, the postman Joseph Roulin. He painted the baby, Marcelle, five times - three portraits are of her alone (like this one) and two more are of the baby on her mother's lap. This painting is now owned by the van Gogh Museum, in Amsterdam.
