Schliemann's Excavations - At Work in Troy

This graphic depicts Heinrich Schliemann working at the Hisarlik Mound.  Modern scholars and archaeologists have universally criticized his methods.  By digging too deeply, Schliemann caused much of the ancient-Troy evidence to be destroyed.
