Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear

After he was released from the hospital, Vincent created self-portraits depicting his bandaged ear.  Although this painting appears to show the injury was to his right ear, it was actually his left.  Van Gogh used a mirror to paint his image.

Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear is now owned by the Courtauld Institute in London, England.
