Sophie Schliemann - Wearing a Trojan Diadem

Even though archaeological methods, during Heinrich Schliemann's time, were not what they are today, contemporary academic standards and protocols required that archaeologists respect the findings they uncovered.  People were therefore shocked when this photograph of Schliemann's wife, Sophie, showed her wearing a recovered diadem.
