Southern Campaigns, American Revolution - 1778-1781

Although patriots at Sullivan’s Island were able to resist a British invasion in 1776, the Redcoats took control of Charleston in 1780.  Thereafter, several battles in the South (as depicted in this U.S. Military Academy map) went badly for the Americans.
