The Gunpowder Plot - Getting the Gunpowder

Gathering gunpowder became easier when another favorable coincidence presented itself to the conspirators.  A storage area became available which allowed the men to stockpile the powder in a vault.  From there, it was just a matter of transporting it across the River Thames.

Had the plot worked, it would have killed more than the king and his heir.  All the senior members of government would also have been present at the Opening of Parliament.  A massive explosion would thus have ripped through the heart of Britain's establishment.
