van Gogh Copies Hiroshige - Plum Tree

In 1887, Vincent attempted to replicate some of Ando Hiroshige’s work.. His Flowering Plum Tree, shown above, is based on Hiroshige’s The Plum Orchard at Kameido.

Van Gogh created this oil on canvas in Paris, during September and October of 1887.  It is now at the van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
