Early Years - View of the Roofs of Paris - 1886

Van Gogh used darker colors for his early paintings in Paris, such as he did in View of the Roofs of Paris in the late summer of 1886. The colors reflect his earlier works and his Dutch background. 

Today, this painting is part of the collection at the van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
