Weather BalloonsWeather balloons are released daily from locations all over the world. They fly for about 2 hours, cover up to 125 miles and rise as high as 100,000 feet (almost 19 miles!). A radiosonde hangs below the balloon and gathers information about atmospheric conditions, such as temperature and humidity.
