Cold Mountain
STORY PREFACE
In 1791, William Bartram (whose lifelong home was on the banks of the Schuylkill River in what is now Philadelphia), published Travels Through North and South Carolina.
Nearly seventy-five years later, that book was Inman’s constant companion as he fled the horrors of Civil War and made his way home to North Carolina’s Cold Mountain.
