Joe Stafford and his wife, Kathy, were working in Tehran when Iranian students stormed the U.S. Embassy on the 4th of November, 1979.
As the "ARGO" escape plan began to take shape, during January of 1980, Joe was very concerned whether the houseguests, and their helpers, would be able to flee Iran without something going terribly wrong.
