Image of Alexandre Dumas (1802-1870), the author who wrote classic novels such as The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers

The photo depicts how he appeared in 1855.  The original is maintained at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas.

His novels remain popular today and are used as the basis for movies like The Musketeer.
