Scholars believe that the climate, worldwide, was moderate during the Cretaceous Period.  Because of that, paleontologists believe there was great diversification among dinosaurs.

This image depicts Argentinosaurus - an herbivorous titanosaur - which may have been the largest of all the dinosaurs.  Paleontologists believe this enormous creature may have weighed up to 100 tons.
