Battle of Gettysburg - Union Charge

NOTE:  THIS VIDEO CLIP RECREATES SCENES FROM THE CIVIL-WAR BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG.  IT IS GRAPHICALLY EXPLICIT WHEN UNION SOLDIERS USE FIXED BAYONETS TO CHARGE AGAINST CONFEDERATE TROOPS.  IT IS NOT EASY TO WATCH.  PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

This clip, from the film Gettysburg, depicts a Union charge.  The scene is based on the account of events by Colonel Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain (who leads the charge here).

Recent scholarship asserts it may have been Lieutenant Holman S. Melcher who both suggested the use of bayonets and commenced the charge.
