Beethoven's Ninth - Fall of the Wall Concert, Part 2

Continuation of Beethoven's Ninth, performed by the Bavarian Broadcast Symphony Orchestra with other leading musicians from Europe, America and Russia.

Bernstein substituted the word Freiheit (Freedom) for Freude (Joy), in the An die Freude section, to celebrate the reuniting of East and West Germany.

Soloists are June Anderson (soprano), Sarah Walker (mezzo-soprano), Klaus König (tenor) and Jan-Hendrik Rootering (bass).

Beethoven's 9th Symphony, performed by the Bavarian Broadcast Symphony Orchestra - under the direction of Leonard Bernstein - to celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall.  The concert was broadcast throughout the world and performed on Christmas Day, 1989.
