Bernice Pauahi Bishop - Kamehameha's Last Survivor Legends and Legendary People Biographies Geography Social Studies Visual Arts World History

Princess Bernice Pauahi Paki Bishop was the last-surviving descendant of Kamehameha the Great.  Hawaii's largest landowner, at the time she died in 1884, the Princess decided that her great land wealth would be held in trust for the benefit of Hawaiian children.

Her thoughtful generosity continues to help Hawaiian children since the value of her holdings his substantially increased.  Today, her land-based estate is worth billions of dollars.
