Auvers-sur-Oise is a beautiful place in the spring time, with its flowering bushes and other foliage.

In May of 1890, Vincent van Gogh interpreted how he saw "Blossoming Chestnut Branches" when he created an oil-on-canvas measuring 72.0 x 91.0 cm.

The work now resides in Zurich where it is owned by the E.G. Bührle Foundation.
