Bodyguard Plan - False Information to Deceive Hitler

"BODYGUARD" was the name of an Allied plan of deception, created to fool Germany about the Allies' invasion plans for 1944.

Dated the 3rd of February, 1944, the Supreme Headquarters' plan was approved by the Combined Chiefs of Staff.  We learn its purpose in the first paragraph:

Its object is to induce the enemy to make faulty strategic dispositions in relation to operations by the United Nations against Germany.

Included in the plan of deception are such events as an "attack on Northern Norway" and a "main Allied effort in Spring 1944 ... against the Balkans."
