Budapest - Map Locator World History Geography

In later years, when the twin cities of “Buda” and “Pest” were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, they were part of a multi-ethnic region as depicted by this map.

Maintaining an "Empire," which included many different nationalities, was as difficult for the Austro-Hungarians as it was for Attila's successors.

William Robert Shepherd (1871-1934) included this map, entitled "Distribution of Races in Austria-Hungary," in his 1911 Historical Atlas.  It depicts, among many other things, the location of Budapest.
