Carlos Lehder

Carlos Lehder

Carlos Lehder was arrested, and tried, in Florida.  His trial, in 1989, took months.  George Jung testified against him.

The jury found Lehder guilty, and the court sentenced him to life with no possibility of parole - plus - 135 years.

Then ... the U.S. government made a deal with Lehder.  If he'd testify against Manuel Noriega, the former President of Panama, the government would get Lehder out of prison.

Lehder testified; Noriega was convicted.

Lehder left prison life.  The federal government has never publicly revealed his whereabouts.
