When Winston Churchill gave a speech, or aired a broadcast, he used speaking notes set out in his distinctive "psalm form."  The phrased passages helped him to maintain the right cadence in his delivery.

This image depicts Churchill's speaking notes for his October 16, 1938 broadcast to the United States.  In the talk, he urged America and Britain to both arm and to come up with good ideas in the face of gathering war clouds.

We can compare Churchill's notes to the actual speech by hearing him speak the words in his distinctive "psalm-form" cadence. We can also learn what was going on during this time of his life by watching a clip from "The Gathering Storm."
