Cocaine Trafficking

Cocaine Trafficking

This image depicts the results of a cocaine "bust."  Government officials tell us that the flow of cocaine into America has not abated.

Instead of major cartels - like the Medellin Cartel once headed by Pablo Escobar - free-lance drug dealers make a living selling cocaine in America (and elsewhere).

One of those freelancers - a young man called Steve - relates what it's like to be involved in the drug business:

It's a commodities business. You're not moving pork, you're not moving cows, you're not moving petroleum, you're moving coke... Everything's a contract, except it's verbal and it's signed with your blood.

One could argue that it is also signed with the blood of those who use the drug (and their families and friends).
