The Crossover, written by Kwame Alexander, is a novel that is written in verse. It is about twin brothers, Josh and Jordan Bell, who play on the same basketball team in middle school.  Their story is about love, jealousy, family, friendship, heartache, illness and death.  In other words, it is a book about life and how two boys learn to deal with it.

Josh, the narrator of the book, writes about his love for his family, as well as his thoughts about life. His daily challenges and lessons learned help him to cross over from childhood to adolescence with each turn of the page.
