Currency of the United Colonies American History Government Law and Politics

This currency  - "Three Dollars" - was authorized by the "United Colonies" on July 22, 1776.

It was just a few weeks after the colonies had declared their independence on the 4th of July, 1776.  Note these words on the currency:  "...according to a resolution of Congress, passed at Philadelphia, July 22, 1776."
