Curtiss Seaplane - 1918 American History Social Studies Aviation & Space Exploration Visual Arts

In this image we see a Curtiss seaplane on the ramp at Atlantic City, New Jersey (in 1918).

This was the type of plane which Howard Hughes, Jr., and his father flew in 1920.  Mr. Hughes paid $5 per person for the ride which helped his son to become a lifelong lover of aviation.
