Determine the Central Idea

Standard Basis:

A primary source is a first-hand document, a recording, an artifact, or other source of information that was created during the event or the time period. Secondary sources are documents written after an event has occurred, providing secondhand accounts of that event, person, or topic. Secondary documents are usually written by scholars or experts and examples are the AwesomeStories story chapters and briefs. Read the entire chapter or brief and choose one primary source and one secondary source to summarize. Write two paragraphs (3-5 sentences each) summarizing the central ideas and key details from the sources you selected. Make sure you cite specific textual evidence from the documents that shows how the key events or ideas develop over the course of the text.
